Bio
Dave Allison is a native Montrealer and long time purveyor of funky soul music . The son of an Opera singer and an Actor, performance was in his bones from an early age. Finding an affinity for the turntables upon first sight, Dave taught himself to mix @ age 17, and then later, to produce his own music.
While maintaining a passion for making people move on the dancefloor, Dave does not limit himself to one style, and is as much at home spinning a set of loungy jazz beats as he is rocking a party into a frenzy.
Owner and creator of Kinjo Music, Dave has established the label as a premier name in the deep & funky house scene, As a producer, Dave has releases and remixes on labels such as: Patsada, The Savant Guard, Highjack, Melted Funk, Homesick, Dustpan, Shak, and of course, Kinjo. Showing his diversity, his efforts are also acknowledged with the closing track on Mark Farina’s Mushroom Jazz Vol. 6 on Om records with the downtempo gem "Reflections".

Dave’s promotional duties have enabled him to organize memorable events in Montreal, and he continues to bring quality talent to town for his now infamous Monthly "The Kinjo Sessions". Previous guests have included: Miles Maeda, Diz, Raoul Belmans, Jason Hodges, Massimo Dacosta, Neighbour, Natural Rhythm and more.
Having been behind the decks for over a decade, Dave has shared the decks with many of the worlds top funky house talents, and performed at Montreal’s hottest clubs including the world-renowned Stereo Afterhours Club. September 2009 marks Dave’s second successful year as a monthly resident at Montreal’s famed "Salon Daome". He can also be found every Wednesday at Quartier Latin Pub where he spins an eclectic mix of rare funk, soul, disco, trip-hop, broken-beat and house. Outside of his home city, Dave’s bookings have taken him to New York City, Miami, Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, England among others.
